How do I join?

Registering is easy.  You can get to the registration screen by either clicking on the register link below the login box (at the top right of the screen), or by typing in the URL http://sailingsmarter.com/user/register.

You'll be presented with a screen where you will be asked for a "username", your email address, a password, and a security task (such as repeating the 2nd word in a phrase).

You're username will identify you on the SailingSmarter site.  The URL to your personal profile will be sailingsmarter.com/sailors/your_user_name.  Please select a name with no spaces.  

The email address that you provide will be used for all necessary correspondence from SailingSmarter to you.  This address will not be publicly availabe to any member or non-member.  They will simply know your username, and won't know your email address unless you share it with them.  

The password that you provide will allow you to login to the site, using your username.  This too remains totally hidden from everyone, in fact, even our administrators don't have access to your password.  Note that this is not necessarily your email password. This is a unique password for the SailingSmarter website.

Finally, you will be asked to perform a simple task, such as typing a certain word.  This is to protect the security of the site, as this task can distinguish real users from automated computers trying to gain access and post spam.
