2007 PA Governor's Cup Lightning Regatta
Central New York Lightning District
Sept. 15-16, Bob competed in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Cup at Lake Wallenpaupak Yacht Club. His crew for the weekend were fellow Central New York district members Al and Logan MacReynolds. The team finished fifth, after counting a “20″ in race two, when they tipped over. They sailed strong in the other four races with finishes of 2,2,1,3.
2007 Lightning North American Championships

August 15-17, 2007 - Bob King, Billy Healy, and Will Morang finished the 2007 Lightning North American Championships in 18th place. This was a very successful regatta for the team and a nice exclamation point to bring to a close a very successful summer season. Conditions were tough in Annapolis with a wide range of winds, colder than usual temperatures, and rain for a good portion of the week.
2007 Lightning North Americans - Qualifying Series

August 13-14, 2007 - Bob King with Billy Healy and Will Morang as crew are now competing in the 2007 Lightning North American Championships held in Annapolis, Maryland. While the weather has been cold and wet, not the typical August weather in Annapolis, 80 boats still found their way to the racecourse.
2007 Buffalo Canoe Club Youth Invitational
Central New York Lightning District
Bob King brought a team of youth sailors, Peter Murphy and Kyle Crandall, to compete in the first annual Buffalo Canoe Club Youth Invitational Lightning Regatta. 18 teams consisting of at least 2 juniors each completed eight races. The highlight of the regatta for the team was young Peter steering to a victory in the second race. Results, pictures, and a regatta report are posted on the Lightning Class website.
2007 Lightning Atlantic Coast Championships
Central New York Lightning District
Bob King with teammates Billy Healy and Danielle Powers won the 2nd and 3rd races of the Atlantic Coast Championships held at Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport, Connecticut. The team figured out the light air conditions and the Long Island Sound current better than 42 of the 44 boats competing, finishing 2nd to Bill Fastiggi of Vermont Sailing Partners.
